The mas (Farmhouse in south of France) of Faïsses is neither a hotel nor a restaurant. However, you’ll sleep and eat there often best than elsewhere, and surely differently. More than an inn, it is the blend of plants and taste… The mas of faïsses is a beautiful stone building of XVIIIe century, located in the Cevennes Ardéchoises, close to Largentière. It is planted in the middle of a 10 ha park, made up of gardens, chestnuts, orchards. Shaded terraces, arched rooms, the monumental chimney for the winter, everything is favourable for a convivial stay.
There you will taste a very original cookery, with vegetables, fruits and flowers coming directly from the garden. (Vegetarians are welcome).
Yvette (gardener) and Robert (cook) are indeed impassioned: the cultures are surprisingly diversified; the menus are all the more originals.
You will sleep in this solid high Cevennes farmhouse out of massive granite, the stone of the country. Alone, in couple or in group, you will appreciate quietness in this residence which does not miss character. One comes here to rest, resource. You thus will not be disturbed by the telephone, nor not tempted to light television: there is neither one nor the other in the rooms. Count rather on the family atmosphere which reigns in the Farmhouse of Faïsses to pass your evenings: the gastronomy and the art of the gardens do not have any more secrecy for Yvette and Robert; perhaps will they reveal you some of their secrets..
